We have partnered with the Langara Humanitarian Fund to provide fully funded educational pathways for 2SLGTBTQIA+ Newcomers. Our goal is to raise $150,000 for 2SLGBTQIA+ Newcomer education awards and scholarships.

Education will give 2SLGBTQIA+ newcomers more control over their future. Not only will it help them integrate into Canadian culture, education will provide 2SLGBTQIA+ newcomers the skills they need to achieve their dreams.

English (ESL) Awards
Often Newcomers arrive with job skills from their home country but do not speak English. As a result, they face challenges finding work or must take jobs that do not take advantage of their skill sets.
Access to English lessons can involve long wait times and costs beyond their means. It is our goal to offer English (ESL) three month Training Modules to 2SLGBTQIA+ Newcomers. The costs of these modules would be covered by awards from the Foundation of Hope. The Langara Foundation will administer this program.
Two-Year Degree Scholarships
It is our goal to offer two-year scholarships for Langara certificates, diplomas, and degree programs. The length of support will vary depending on the student’s program of study and will include tuition, books, and other needs.
